Pakistan beat West Indies by 14 runs in the first match of the three-match T20 series to take a 0-1 lead in the series.
West Indies captain Shay Hope won the toss and elected to field first in a match played in Lauderdale, Florida. Batting first, Pakistan scored 178 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Saeem Ayub scored 57 runs and was the leading batsman of Pakistan’s innings, while Fakhar Zaman scored 28 runs and Hassan Nawaz scored 24 runs.
In reply, the West Indies team could score only 164 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by 14 runs, John Charles and Jewell Andrew scored 35 and 35 runs respectively.

For Pakistan, Muhammad Nawaz bowled well and dismissed 3 players, while Saeem Ayub took 2 wickets. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Safyan Muqim got one wicket each.
