The buzz around Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s IPL future has already started — months before the next season kicks off. After Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was injured and ruled out midway through IPL 2025, Dhoni stepped back into the captain’s role. While he did play in the 2024 and 2025 seasons, his batting position shifted lower in the order and his running between the wickets noticeably slowed down.
