Florida police used a so-called PIT maneuver and slammed into a stolen SUV operated by a 15-year-old boy to put an end to the teen’s wild joyride on Tampa’s freeways.

Harrowing aerial footage of the high-speed case shows police repeatedly attempting to box in a red Toyota RAV4 on Sunday as the stolen vehicle, occupied by a 15- and 14-year-old, evaded their efforts by driving off the roads.

The video then cuts to another attempt to stop the teens in the middle of a highway overpass on the Selmon Expressway, with one police cruiser opting to swipe the car with a PIT maneuver, which turns the Toyota around.

“He PIT him. He PIT him. If we can help him, he just PIT him,” the pilot can be heard directing the other cruisers.

Despite sliding several feet on the road, the teens are able to regain control of the vehicle and attempt to flee, but the officer hits them with another PIT maneuver, halting their escape.

The stolen car is then successfully boxed in by two other police cars.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that the duo was taken down in coordination with the Florida Highway Patrol, who were alerted to the case following reports of a stolen vehicle from Riverview spotted on I-75 at around 4:10 p.m., Fox News reports.

The 15-year-old driver was charged with aggravated battery on law enforcement deadly weapon, grand theft auto, and fleeing to elude at high speed. The 14-year-old passenger was also charged with grand theft auto.

The sheriff’s office condemned the teen’s reckless actions and urged residents to keep their vehicles locked to avoid a repeat of Sunday’s incident.

“Lock your car, no matter how quickly you’re going to be inside your home. This car was left unlocked and running in a driveway, making it easy for these teens to steal,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement.

While Sunday’s arrest ended without injury, The Sunshine State saw a similar, but fatal, incident take place last year when three teens stole a Maserati in St. Petersburg.

As the teens flee from deputies at 123 mph, the car hit a curb and went airborne, plowing through a store and killing one of the passengers and injuring the other two.
